Every other year the Air Force hosts an air show for the public. The air show displays the flying techniques of several pilots and the maneuvers that are achievable through time and practice. Several men and women join the Air Force with hopes of becoming pilots but as of December 2014 there are 13, 2016 pilots enlisted in the Air Force. Not all men and women who join the service have the privilege of getting their wings.
This air show event gives pilots the opportunity to show friends and loved ones what they are trained to do for their country. With music, food, friends, and fun hundreds of people gather from all around to watch as these jets soar above. The acrobatic grace of the jets give youth dreams and ambition to work towards a brighter future. This event not only gives families something fun to do together but it is a great idea to give kids someone to look up to.
The air shows are every other year, with shows coming up this year in late October and early November. The shows will be at different locations and will be open to the public. Easily accessible from Loop 1604 Highway 151 and highway 90. Helotes residence, Alamo Ranch residence, and Lackland area residence will all gather to enjoy this event. Great event to turn into an all-day outing with friends and family.
